Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I maintain my car, what are the most common maintenance tips?

Check your owner’s manual. If you do not have it available, you should know that all vehicle manufactures will have different recommendations. Here is a list of most common recommendations:
    • *Coolant or antifreeze – Flush / and or fluid changes
    • *Filters – (Air, Cabin, fuel) replacement
    • *Oil changes
    • *Spark plug replacement
    • *Tire rotation
    • *Transmission fluid exchange
    • *Timing belt replacement
  • How often do I need an oil change?

While it's true some vehicles need an oil change every five thousand clicks, others only require this service every 10 or even 15 thousand km. It's best to refer to your owner’s manual for recommended oil changes. JUAC follows the manufacturer's specifications to make sure your car gets exactly what it needs to run happily ever after (or at least for a very long time). Even if your vehicle requires a longer interval between oil changes you may still need to change out, Air filters, Fuel filters and check fluid levels. A good rule of thumb is to get your vehicle serviced twice yearly.
  • When should I have my tires rotated?

Tire rotations are typically done every 6,000 km's. During your tire rotation we also inspect the vehicle's rotors, brake lines, brake pads, calipers, and tire tread.
  • What does it mean if my "check engine" or "service engine soon" light comes on?

There are many sensors and computerized components that manage your vehicle's engine performance and emissions. When one of these fails, the "check engine" light is illuminated. Although your car may seem to run fine, it is important to have the issue addressed to prevent long-term problems.
